Released:

Beautifully slow and sparse, this downtempo piece of electronica via Gadget really soothes my soul. I hope it does for you too.

The first of two tracks that I made on the flights home, this one was made on the Sydney to Bangkok leg of the journey.

Concentrated Work Ethic Rots (from the inside):

A downtempo, almost dubby track from Gadget, I love how the bass ostinato feels slightly awkward at times against the rhythm.

I wanted to try out two Gadgets that I never use; Berlin and Phoenix, because they got a of love in a post on the iPad Musicians Group, but I quickly found that neither of them is to my taste. So I added 3 instances of Kiev plus some London and Amsterdam for the drums and I quite enjoy the result.

Addendum:

I just noticed that I accidentally posted two tracks for Sunday when I caught up with my travel posts on the wednesday morning. Never mind, let us leave it and consider this a bonus πŸ™‚

Today I decided to explore another Gadget that I don’t often use in Korg’s Gadget, today it was Wolfsburg; this has 6 instances of that and one of London for the drums. I also used Dedalus.

Miserable Hero:

More from my Holiday Gadgetfest.

An interesting side effect of some one like me, who has no idea of the intricate tangle of electronica and EDM genres, using an app like Gadget which is equipped with a plethora of sounds from across that arcane spectrum, is that I use the sounds with no knowledge of those original contexts and therefore create a mishmash; one that is perhaps painful to the aficionado. This idea is interesting and fun to me.

An interesting side effect of getting up in the early hours of the morning because I can’t sleep, is that my mind runs along funny lines like this.

No matter, I am definitely embracing my inner EDM guy with this current Gadget fixation and I hope you are enjoying the ride.

Blue Jack Ramble:

Downtempo EDM from Gadget once more. I’m still on holiday which means I have limited time at the moment. It’s just so quick and fun to do these whip these up, I can’t resist πŸ™‚

Assistance also from AudioShare, ApeFilter, Dedalus, and TwistedWave. You know, the usual crew.

Distant Pulse:

More Gadget based downtempo electronica made with the assistance of AudioShare, ApeFilter, Dedalus, and Auria.

In other words the usual suspects.

Sorry if things seem to be stagnating, it’s because I’m on hols and out of my comfort zone. I’ll try something different tomorrow I promise.

Untrue Development (Edition):

Today feels like a downtempo version of an 80’s Synth Pop track. Not my usual cup of tea to say the least but my current flirtation with Gadget is taking me to some strange places indeed. I used TwistedWave, AudioShare, ApeFilter, and Dedalus to try and bring it a little closer to my usual texture. Not sure if that helped or not πŸ™‚

Anyway it is what it is, I hope it brings you pleasure.

Laxative Is The Key:

There’s a beat and a bassline and some vocals, does that make it a song? Not the way I do it.

iElectribe for the drums, iFretless BassΒ for (you guessed it) the bass. The vocals is on two tracks, one effected by VoxSyn and the other by Harmony Voice. Assembled in Auria.

Fluid Victoria Extract:

Another Downtempo Electronica piece courtesy of Gadget. This app is really fun to use and full of so many possibilities.

I made this on the plane between Oslo and Bangkok.

Made in Gadget, ran it through Dedalus, back to Gadget and exported a sparser version, ran that through Dedalus, arranged the two together in Auria. This is becoming a standard workflow for me for this sort of track but so far I’m happy with the results.
