Momentus Allegorius:
An Ambient Soundscape.
This is an unusual track for me, not in the style but for two reasons: first I used Synthmaster Player which I’ve never really enjoyed before and never used on a track, and second because I entirely used included presets. It just all came together very naturally and I let it happen without stressing myself about making the sounds myself.
Once I had the basic track down I slowed it using TwistedWave, then loaded it into AudioShare and used AUFX:Dub and Dedalus on it.

Troglodytic:
A soundscape.
Like yesterday this track is inspired by my explorations of Shoom, an upcoming synth that I an beta testing. For me it seems ideal for creating ambient soundscapes and textures, at least that is where it immediately leads me.
This track is 90% Shoom, I have added a few instances of a sound that I have used before; made with BeatMaker 2 and TwistedWave.

Abyssal Dance Floor:
A Soundscape.
Shoom ( a very promising new synth that I am fortunate to be beta testing) provides the soundscape here and iSpark provides the drums. Brought into perfect harmony in Auria
Peace out.

Icarus Revisited:
A Diptych today, of soundscapes. Woo Hoo two for one!
The first track is a combination of two sound files combined in Auria. The first a Sector treatment of an iDensity treatment of a Korg Module electric piano jam, while the second is a TwistedWave treatment of an iMaschine 2 drum beat.
The second track takes a small piece of that twisted drum beat and loops it, again in Auria, and then adds a slow piano. I just used the inbuilt Lyra sampler and layered an acoustic piano with an electric one.

Room For All:
A Soundscape.
Hey hey, it’s been awhile since I made a movie 🙂
Todays track is all about Borderlands Granular. I loaded in three tracks from the last few days: an electric piano (made with Module and Auria), a piano and strings (ThumbJam, Auria), and a beatscape (iSpark, AudioShare). I did four jams and was happy with the fourth so I loaded that into TwistedWave and trimmed out the best part before slowing it.
Next I loaded it into AudioShare and ran it through AUFX:Dub, and then through AltiSpace.
The Video:
I went for a walk in the forest near here this morning, it was magical, I followed some deer tracks in the snow past a frozen brook 🙂
Anyway I took my trusty iPhone and used the built in camera app to take some movies and stills which I assembled using Pinnacle Studio.

Can’t Stop:
A Spoken Word Soundscape.
Today began with these words; a sort of stream of consciousness ramblings-of-a-madman sort of monologue. I recorded them into AudioShare with AltiSpace and then tried to prepare a soundscape for them. I began with a Grain Science recording that I made a month ago and kept in a folder for just such an occasion, I slowed it and lowered it in TwistedWave. Then combined the two files in Auria. Next I added a Sparkle recording that I made using TC-11 and Figure. The vocals required some cutting up and arranging but that was all 🙂

Keening For The Lost:
An Abstract Soundscape.
TC-11, Figure, Sparkle. Really loving how Sparkle allows me to generate these Soundscapes. Wish I’d tried it sooner.

Circumspect Circumstances:
An Abstract Soundscape.
Today I explored Sparkle by Apesoft, an app that I haven’t used before but always intended to explore. I haven’t read the manual or watched any vids, so I’m not really sure what it does but it takes two sounds and combines them in some way. Whatever it is I had great fun and immediately got several good results. Here I have combined two of those results: At first I loaded an earlier version of yesterday’s track into one slot (so that’s using Gadget) and a bassline from a Reggae sample CD into the other, then I used the Gadget file and a TC11 jam from a few weeks ago for the second play. I layered both in Auria and used AUFX:Peak to try and tame the lower end.

My Dreams Have Been Dark Of Late:
A Beatscape.
Today’s drums began in iMPC Pro, were slowed and lowered in TwistedWave, effected with Dedalus and AUFX:Space, and then slowed again.
The background was made in Grain Science using a recording of my voice made with the AudioShare and AltiSpace combination.
They were collaged in Auria with two old recordings made with my iPhone years ago: one of my office chair creaking, and one of my fretless Fender Jazz.

Ruefully:
A disturbed ambient piece.
I did a jam last week using my Axiom Pro keyboard to play Korg’s Module app with an Electric Piano sound. I ran that through Sector, trimmed out a promising piece, looped it, and then slowed it. All using TwistedWave and AudioShare.
Today I took that into Auria and timestretched it limps and stumbles along, almost languidly. Then I added two Addictive Synth tracks; just jamming along after I add chosen some sounds from my own collection.
Listening to it now, it reminds me of seaweed near the shore, being pushed and pulled by the waves.
